The Crystal Palace Market Launches New Wine and Oyster Bar – Just In Time for The September Oyster Season

A pinnacle time of year for any seafood lover, this September once again introduces the annual oyster season. In light of celebrating the popular delicacy, The Crystal Palace Market has opened The Oyster and Wine Bar, managed by the owner of French Comte Company, Fabien Joly, who supplies fine cheeses to two Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons and Selfridges.

Sipping from a flute of premium Laurent Perrier champagne whilst savouring the freshest Irish Oysters on ice that can be found in South East London, the locals of Crystal Palace are delighted with The Crystal Palace Market’s glamorous new addition to their neighbourhood.

Within a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere, The Oyster and Wine bar is conveniently located next door to The Crystal Palace Market. Previously a butcher and fishmonger, the bar has retained the authentic charm with previous features used such as the tiles and furniture including the oyster bar, butchers block and cheese room. In keeping with the Market Group style, chic wooden shelves and stylish metal stools have been added.

Endeavouring to offer the Michelin starred worthy cheese, wine and cured meats, Manager Fabien Joly owns his very own French Comte company. Fabien has curated only the very best selection with his intuitive passion for oysters, fine cheeses charcuterie and chocolate boards. All of The Wine and Oyster Bar’s small bites have been specifically matched with organic and natural wines handpicked by head sommelier, Jean Louis Naveilhan, who has created the wine menu.

A highlight to frequent the menu of The Wine and Oyster bar which opened in May, the premium cheese & charcuterie board is one not to miss and offers a collection of handpicked artisan cured meats and cheese from The French Comte company and is served alongside walnuts, pickles, relish and a choice of bread or savoury crackers. Or in contrast, for those with a sweet tooth, their chocolate board includes handmade chocolates from local chocolatier, Blowing Dandelion

Whether you’re catching up over a crisp glass of South African Chardonnay and olives or celebrating over one of their in house cocktails to the beat of their live jazz band on a Thursday night, The Crystal Palace Market’s new Wine and Oyster Bar is an irritable temptation to South East Londoners. The Wine and Oyster bar is open for action on Thursday, 6pm – 11pm; Friday 4pm – midnight; Saturday 12pm – midnight and from 12pm to 10pm on Sundays. For those who want all of this to themselves The Wine and Oyster Bar is also available for private hire.
