THE BELFRY’S GM NOMINATED FOR ULTIMATE INDUSTRY AWARD

The Belfry’s General Manager, Mukesh Kumar has been announced as a finalist in the Manager of the Year category in The Caterer’s 2017 Catey Awards.

The biggest awards of their kind in the hospitality industry, the internationally renowned Cateys recognise the strongest performers, latest emerging brands and highest flyers in the sector, as determined by the industry itself.

More than 140 judges, chosen for their expertise and industry knowledge, recently met at London’s Dorchester hotel to discuss the nominees and produce their shortlist.

The winners, representing British hospitality at its best, will be revealed at a glittering event on 4th July at London’s Grosvenor House, with The Belfry’s General Manager hoping to be one of the big winners on the night.

“I am extremely honoured that my colleagues nominated me for this prestigious Catey award in the first instance and to then go on and be shortlisted is something I am very proud of. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Belfry since joining in 2015 and have been fortunate enough to oversee the development of such a prestigious resort. I am looking forward to the evening on 4th July and wish all contenders the best of luck”.

Studying in Goa, Mukesh received his degree and masters in hospitality and has worked with some of the best and internationally recognised hotel companies with over 19 years’ experience in the industry.

Tasked with continuing the success of our newly refurbished hotel and resort, Mukesh has been an instigator in reinstating The Belfry’s reputation back to its former glory. He has also been instrumental in leading the team towards achieving the title of England’s Leading Resort and Birmingham’s Business of the Year.”

Mukesh along with his team repositioned the operational departments in the pursuit of excellence that resulted in unprecedented growth for The Belfry. Overall resort revenue has increased by 25% the past two years with a further 12% growth forecast for 2017. Mukesh’s initiatives have also propelled The Belfry forward in terms of their standards, service values and employee engagement with guest satisfaction scores reaching an all-time high of 89% plus for 2016 with continued expectations for growth in 2017.

The 34th Catey Awards is set to be another spectacular event, once again recognising individuals, teams and businesses that shape the hospitality industry.
