Meraki launches ‘Big Fat Greek Brunch’ Contemporary Greek restaurant in Fitzrovia @merakilondon

On Sunday 5th November, contemporary Greek restaurant, Meraki, will launch its very first ‘Big Fat Greek Brunch’. The latest restaurant from the Waney family (Roka, Zuma, The Arts Club), Meraki opened its doors on Great Titchfield Street in July 2017, and the team are thrilled to now be extending their vibrant menu offering to include the most leisurely and sociable meal of the week.
Curated by Executive Chef Athinagoras Kostakos, the menu will celebrate Mediterranean, family-style cooking in a warm and hospitable setting. To start, guests will be invited to serve themselves to a bottomless buffet of fresh Greek salads, indulgent mezze dips, homemade breads and pittas, and much-loved traditional pies such as Spanakopita and Tiropita. They can then choose a comforting main from the likes of Moussaka with Black Angus beef ragout, roasted potatoes, aubergine and béchamel, or Eggs Kagiana with tomato sauce, wild boar sausage and feta. To finish, guests can pick from a menu of traditional Greek desserts including the likes of Loukoumades (Greek donuts and honey) and Portokalopita (orange syrup cake).Meraki_-_clairemenary.com-6697[1]
Kostakos says of the new menu, “A brunch at Meraki feels like a warm, cosy lunch at home; with a very relaxed atmosphere and homemade traditional Greek recipes, reminiscent of what you’d expect from a typical Sunday Greek lunch. The idea is for Meraki to be a great place to relax, chat and enjoy a Sunday afternoon – all while eating good, real food.”
The menu – priced at £45 per person for bottomless buffet, a main and dessert – also includes a glass of Greek sparkling wine, Karanika Brut. Brunchers looking for a further tipple can choose from Meraki’s extensive wine list or innovative cocktail menu, with many drinks comprising of authentic Greek herbs such as kritamo, mastic, and marjoram, and using citrus fruits from the Greek island of Naxos.
