Royal Afternoon Tea at The Petersham Restaurant

With the joyful arrival of Prince Louis and the imminent transatlantic wedding, 2018 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for the most famous family in Britain. And in honour of these Royal milestones, The Petersham Restaurant is hosting a spectacular Royal Afternoon Tea, exclusively available from Thursday 3rd May to Sunday 1st July.

For a limited time only, the fine-dining restaurant’s renowned Afternoon Tea has been given a luxurious, regal revamp. Alongside traditional scones and award-winning loose-leaf teas, the Royal menu will feature an array of beautifully themed cakes, pastries and sandwiches that have been especially designed by talented Head Chef, Jean-Didier Gouges, for the occasion.

Guests can take in The Petersham Restaurant’s unique floor-to-ceiling views of the River Thames and surrounding Petersham Meadows and dine like royalty on quintessentially British finger sandwiches and show-stopping pastries. Highlights include a modern-day favourite of Queen Elizabeth II herself – a decadent Chocolate Biscuit Cake, as well as delicate Lemon Curd and Raspberry Tartlets, inspired by Meghan Markle’s wedding cake of similar citrus flavours.

Of course, a celebration would be nothing without a commemorative glass of fizz, and The Petersham Restaurant has chosen a special bottle that’s certainly fit for the queen – the Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut Champagne. A favourite of the Royal family for generations (most notably, The Prince of Wales, Queen Victoria and Edward VII), this beautiful Champagne is the perfect accompaniment for any celebration.

Royal Afternoon Tea at The Petersham Restaurant is available from 3rd May – 1st July, priced at £27.50 Monday to Friday and £29.50 Saturday and Sunday (add a glass of champagne for £12.75).
