Catering Design Group is shortlisted for major industry award @CateringDesignG

Daventry-based Catering Design Group (CDG) has been shortlisted for a Grand Prix Award 2019.

Run by the catering equipment industry trade body, CEDA, the awards programme recognises excellence within the UK catering equipment sector, shining a light on great design, customer service and project management.

Commercial kitchen and restaurant design company, CDG, has been shortlisted under the ‘Design Project over £300K’ category for their recent work at the University of Sunderland.

This extensive design and refurbishment project involved the re-design of five individual catering spaces across two campuses based three miles apart, taking CDG 2,240 man-hours to complete.

Phil Howard, managing director of CDG, said: “It was a huge and exciting challenge for our team.  Each of the individual spaces had to work in its own right, while reflecting the University of Sunderland’s ethos and styling. We understood the commercial objectives from the outset and used our creativity and experience to add practical and aesthetic design elements to transform the spaces, resulting in a 20% increase in footfall and revenue since completion. It is an absolute honour that our work has been recognised in this way and shortlisted for this prestigious award.”

All of the finalists now go forward to the Grand Prix Awards on 5th April at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire when the winners will be announced.
