The St James Bar Launches Winter Cocktail Collection

Magically inspired cocktails to inspire and excite

 

The St James Bar at Sofitel London St James, adjacent to the hotel’s elegant The Balcon Restaurant, has launched its winter cocktail collection – a series of magical cocktails designed by their team of expert bartenders.  Inspired by well-known fairy tales and legends, the cocktails re-tell those stories via the creative and imaginative use of delicious ingredients.  Take refuge from the busy streets in this Coco Chanel inspired intimate bar and relax with the cocktail based on your favourite childhood tale

 

With the first cocktail taking inspiration from ‘Beauty and the Beast’, the Enchanted Rose cocktail was created by Head Bartender, Kostas Bardas. The fairylike Enchanted Rose cocktail is a balance of sour and flowery notes, created from Belvedere vodka infused with red berries, framboise eau de vie, white tea syrup, St Germain liqueur, Peychaud’s bitters and rose water

 

For a visit to Wonderland, try the Alice inspired Crazy Tea Time, created by Bar Manager Enzo Sigaut.  A subtle combination of herbal and citrusy flavours is driven by the key ingredients Poire Williams eau de vie, Roots Mastiha liqueur and butterfly-pea flower tea

 

The Who’s Nibbling at My House cocktail is a charming interpretation of ‘Hansel & Gretel’, complete with chocolate house garnish – a perfect after dinner drink created by Team Leader, Hamdi Ben Ali.  A combination of Talisker 10, amaretto liqueur, chocolate cookie syrup, vanilla bitters, double cream creates a delectable marriage of sweet and smoke flavours.

 

This list would not be complete without a representation from the classic London and Neverland based story of ‘Peter Pan’, with the Fear O’Clock cocktail illustrating the story of the mischievous young boy who doesn’t want to grow up. Bartender Cedric Calle has created a quirky garnish representing the passage of time, which puts the

 

 

finishing touch to this bitter-sweet cocktail, made from Mount Gay Black Barrel rum infused with tisane Fidji, homemade sweet vermouth, Campari and violet liqueur
