Christmas has come early for Zonal, as the UK’s leading technology provider to the hospitality sector has installed its Aztec EPoS systems at the country’s largest dedicated, pop-up ice rink, located in Canary Wharf, London.
The five units have been purchased for the Secret Garden bars being managed by RunWild Events. This is the first time in the ice rink’s five year history that RunWild has purchased, rather than leased, it’s EPoS.
RunWild Events operations director for events, Ian Moyes, said: “Each year our Canary Wharf events grow in popularity, and we decided it was time to invest in our technology to deliver the very best customer experience.
“In the past we fell victim to unreliable EPoS that caused a great deal of frustration for staff and customers, which meant we fell short of our high service standards – you could say, we were skating on thin ice! Zonal’s Aztec stood out from the crowd for its functionality and reliability.”
Aztec will be used to manage sales for the Grandstand Secret Garden Bar located within the rink venue. The system hosts a collection of applications, ranging from finance and people management through to stock and promotions that enables operators to run an efficient and profitable business.
“The quality of reporting from Aztec is excellent, giving us easy to access detailed and timely reports, with up to the minute performance data, which is refreshing. And what’s more our staff like it too, as it’s so intuitive and they require very little training,” added Ian.
The Canary Wharf ice rink will be running until 24 February 2018 and then Aztec will return in the summer when RunWild Events erects its Summer Bars.
