Foodservice industry goes fishing

On June 16th CESA is organising the annual foodservice Industry Trout Fishing Day – this year it will be at Albury Estate Fisheries, in Guildford.

The event is open to all: operators, food and equipment suppliers, CESA members and non-members.  It is designed for both experienced fly fisherman and those who want to cast a fly for the first time.  “It’s not only great fun, it’s also a valuable networking event for the industry,” says Malcolm Harling, chair of the CESA marketing committee.

The day starts with breakfast, meeting the other guests (and ghillies) and a brief introduction to the lakes.  Beginners then head off with instructors for casting tuition, while the more experienced fly fishers can go to the water to start fishing. The ghillies will be nearby throughout the day to give advice or lend a hand when required.  The day finishes with prizes for the competition winners.

Albury offers high quality fly fishing on four lakes in the Surrey Hills, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  For information visit www.alburyestatefisheries.co.uk.

The cost is £120.00 plus VAT, which includes fishing for the day (four fish limit), bacon rolls on arrival, a barbeque lunch and refreshments throughout the day.   For those without fishing equipment, rod, line, fly and net can be hired for £20.00 plus VAT per person.

Tickets can be booked online here.
