TASTE OF THE WEST AND GRANT THORNTON LAUNCH NEW INNOVATION AWARD

Taste of the West is excited to announce a new category for their Food and Drink Awards Programme, celebrating the South West of England’s pioneering food businesses: The Innovation Award.

Taste of the West has teamed up with Grant Thornton to develop this award, themed around innovations that have been implemented, or have started to implement, in the past 12 months, and we’d love to hear about them. Working together, Taste of the West and Grant Thornton will then pick the crème de la crème of innovators in the region to win our inaugural Innovation Award.

John Sheaves, CEO of Taste of the West said: “We are thrilled to launch this new award for innovation with Grant Thornton.  We are looking for any food business who has introduced a new product, service, process or distribution channel perhaps. We are seeking that something special, something which has been a game changer for that business. Perhaps it is something which can be easily replicated throughout industry”.

Harry Walker, Associate Director at Grant Thornton, commented: “The food and beverage industry in the South West is already strong, and we know that many companies in the region are developing their businesses in new and innovative ways. Here at Grant Thornton, we are excited to celebrate these ideas that will help individual businesses to flourish, and will ultimately support the growth of the industry overall.”

Taste of the West’s mission is promoting food and beverage businesses in the South West and innovation clearly plays a key part for Taste of the West and all businesses in the region.

Grant Thornton is a purpose-led business, with a mission to seek and stimulate ideas and actions that build a Vibrant Economy and the South West of England plays a huge part in that philosophy. Their dedicated food and beverage team have a strong track record of working with successful organisations throughout the supply chain.

  • New product development;
  • New packaging designs;
  • Innovative financing arrangements or supply chain models;
  • Partnering with the community, educators or supply chains in a new way;
  • And anything else that you feel demonstrates the innovation at the heart of the West’s Food and Beverage industry.
