The Austrian Alps are home to one of the world’s most spectacular wine and food events this year, 19 – 22 April 2018.
Wine on the Mountain / Wein am Berg, brings together international award-winning chefs, renowned winegrowers and a unique programme of events including skiing with World Champions skiers and former Olympians, high in the mountains.
The event will be hosted by the 5-star Das Central Hotel and Europe’s highest gourmet restaurant, ice Q, which featured as the Hoffler Klinik in the James Bond film ‘Spectre’. This year, the theme of the festival is Austria meets Great Britain.
Highlights of the event will include tasting menus created by Jason Atherton, whose flagship restaurant ‘Pollen Street Social’ was awarded a Michelin Star within just six months of opening, and Hywel Jones from ‘Restaurant Hywel Jones’ at Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa, which has retained its Michelin star for 13 consecutive years.
As well as fine dining, enjoy some of the best wines from across Europe including the most sought after Austrian vineyards. Added bonus: winegrowers and sommeliers alike have said that the higher you go, the better wine tastes.
Boasting one of the longest ski seasons in Europe, thanks to two linked glaciers, ski across 151km of slopes with peaks over 3,000m and views across Austria, Italy and Germany. Soelden ski resort is a hidden gem, but if you want a more relaxed approach, you can take the world’s fastest cable car up the mountains and leave your skis behind.
A feast for all the senses and not to be missed!
