GALVIN BROTHERS WIN CATEY AWARD FOR BEST PUB & BAR

The Galvin brothers have added to their already impressive collection of awards, with their Essex pub, Green Man, winning the prestigious Catey Award for Best Pub & Bar 2019.

Commenting on this award, which saw some of the most prestigious restauranteurs and establishments compete to be crowned the winner, co-owner and Chef Patron, Chris Galvin, said: “only 22 awards were given for the whole of Great Britain, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales and we were one of these winners! We are super proud of all our team for this achievement.”.

But this is not the first Catey award for a Galvin establishment, having previously been awarded the Catey Award for Newcomer of the year in 2006 for Galvin Bistrot de Luxe, the Award for Independent Restaurateurs of the Year in 2010 , and the Award for Manager of the Year 2013 being awarded to Fred Sirieix, manager at Galvin at Windows, London Hilton on Park Lane.

Galvin Green Man is a homecoming for Essex-born brothers Chris & Jeff Galvin, opening November 2016 in Howe Street, Great Waltham. The pub itself is set in 1.5 acres of riverside meadow against the River Chelmer and amidst beautiful countryside; the Green Man is also one of the oldest pubs in Essex, dating back around 700 years.
