LEONARDO ROYAL SOUTHAMPTON GRAND HARBOUR WELCOMES NEW DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER

Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland has welcomed Eugen Patrascu as the new Deputy General Manager of Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour.

With over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Eugen has finessed his skills by working in some of Romania and the UK’s leading hotels. Starting with an interest in F&B, Eugene took on his first managerial role as Assistant Night Manager at the five-star Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest.

Following his role as night manager, Eugen was appointed as front office manager at Romania’s four-star Rin Airport Hotel. The hotelier then held several positions in Romanian properties before moving to the UK in 2014. Since then, Eugen has worked as Deputy General Manager at several different hotels all over the UK, including the Moresby Hall B&B Whitehaven, The Borrowdale Hotel in Cumbria, The Talbot Malton in North Yorkshire and The County Hotel in Chelmsford.

This year, Eugen decided to start a new chapter in his career and join Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour. Together with General Manager, Andy Gray, Eugen will work to provide guests with an enjoyable stay while raising the hotel’s profile around the UK.

Located in the city centre on West Quay Road, Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour has 173 spacious, comfortable bedrooms. The hotel is also home to a Rena Spa and boasts a hugely popular leisure centre, home to the largest indoor, heated swimming pool in the city centre. For corporate customers, the hotel offers 13 meeting and event spaces accommodating up to 500 guests, which are easily adaptable for any function, from conferences to galas, award ceremonies and weddings.

Leonardo Hotels is one of the leading and fastest-growing hotel chains in Europe with more than 150 properties across major European cities. The brand is a recent entrant to the UK hotel market, with 12 hotels: six in Scotland, four in London, one in Southampton and one in Manchester.

Jason Carruthers, Managing Director of Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland says:

“The team is very happy to welcome Eugen to the Leonardo Hotels family. This is an exciting time for Leonardo Hotels as we continue to strengthen our presence in the UK. We rely on the right people to help us grow even further and with over three decades experience under his belt, we are confident that Eugen is the right man for the job.”
