Local burger heroes The Beefy Boys to feature in new BBC series with Tom Kerridge

Beloved local burger creators, The Beefy Boys, will be showcased in an upcoming episode of the brand new BBC series The Hidden World of Hospitality with Tom Kerridge. The episode featuring their journey is scheduled to air at 8.00pm on Thursday 3rd August 2023 on BBC Two. The series will also be available to view on BBC iPlayer.

The Hidden World of Hospitality with Tom Kerridge will delve into the intricacies of the hospitality industry over eight episodes, providing viewers with an exclusive glimpse into its inner workings. The series, hosted by the renowned Gloucester-born chef, Tom Kerridge, highlights the dedicated professionals and the risks that they undertake to push the industry, and their businesses, forward.

Founded in 2011 by four childhood best friends from Hereford, with a shared passion for quality local produce and American-style burgers, The Beefy Boys have quickly built up a solid reputation as creators of outstanding food in the culinary world. Their journey began with extensive research and experimentation on friends and family, which eventually led to them winning the title of “Best Burger” at the UK’s biggest BBQ competition, Grillstock.

Since then, The Beefy Boys have represented the UK with their mouthwatering creations at The World’s Best Burger Competition in Las Vegas, and have most recently continued their impressive journey at the 2023 National Burger Awards, in which they won Burger of the Year. Founding member Anthony ‘Murf’ Murphy was also crowned Burger Chef of the Year. The award win came just days before the launch of their third restaurant, based in Cheltenham, after successful openings in Shrewsbury, and their hometown, Hereford, and has further solidified The Beefy Boys’ reputation as one of the leading forces in the burger industry.

“It’s been a tough few years for the hospitality industry, and we have had to adapt our business along the way to tackle the constant challenges that restaurant owners face. We are so thrilled to be part of this new BBC series, and to share The Beefy Boys’ journey so far” said Murf.

Viewers can look forward to an insider’s perspective of The Beefy Boy’s phenomenal journey in the BBC show, in which Tom Kerridge will examine how they have transformed their passion into a thriving restaurant business with such a loyal following.

The Hidden World of Hospitality with Tom Kerridge starts on Thursday 27th July, with the Beefy Boys set to appear in Episode 2 on Thursday 3rd August at 8pm on BBC Two.
