Bloomsbury Street Kitchen, a modern day-to-night neighbourhood restaurant and bar in the heart of London’s buzzing West End, is now open.
Embracing the relaxed art of shared dining, Bloomsbury Street Kitchen showcases an exquisite selection of contemporary Mediterranean and Japanese small plates, complemented by a diverse variety of wines, sake and signature cocktails. Healthy options such as ‘Salmon Carpaccio with Chilli Avocado’ (£8) and ‘Yellowtail Sashimi with Spicy Yuzu Soy’ (£14) sit alongside more indulgent dishes from the land and sea, including ‘Slow-Cooked Glazed Lamb Shoulder Gyros with Chilli Fries and Lemon Feta Yogurt’ (£9) and ‘Chilli and Lemon Roasted Baby Chicken’ (£12) cooked on a signature Japanese Bincho Grill.
Mirroring the food offering, the extensive bar menu showcases a range of Aperitivo and Signature Cocktails that unite the flavours and traditions of the Mediterranean and those of Japan with a contemporary twist. Highlights of the menu include the classic-inspired ‘The Rosé Sangria’, ‘Hoba Smoked Old Fashioned’ and ‘Chili Margarita’ alongside original creations such as ‘Sakura & Hibiscus Spritz’, ‘Sicilian V&T’ and ‘Kyoto Sour’ (all £9.50). These are accompanied by a considerable wine list, including an impressive selection of Japanese Sake and reserve wines from around the world.
With its design taking equal inspiration from Mediterranean gardens and the minimalist Japanese aesthetic, Bloomsbury Street Kitchen has spotlight plantings to create dynamic and atmospheric interiors. Italian glazed porcelain tiles feature alongside white-washed exposed brickwork, while the more formal dining areas are separated from the internal gardens through the use of bespoke white metal and glass screens.
The restaurant holds 74 covers, split between 60 in the main dining area, 8 on a semi-private dining table and 6 at the chef’s counter, which offers diners the opportunity to experience the kitchen team working at a raw bar with the highest quality ingredients to present standout sashimi and tartare dishes. A lounge bar features an additional 46 covers, while the intimate outdoor garden, dotted by plants such as Mediterranean olive trees and Japanese sago palms, seats a further 16 around zinc-topped tables.
Set to be a glamorous sunrise-to-sunset destination venue, Bloomsbury Street Kitchen is the latest hotly anticipated addition to the capital’s drinking and dining scene.
Bloomsbury Street Kitchen is now open for breakfast through to lunch and dinner.
