Five-star style for new Chester brasserie

Recently-launched Chester eatery, Olive Tree Brasserie, has chosen bespoke furniture from Style Matters to create a unique design with a contemporary twist throughout its restaurant.

The modern Greek restaurant, which is based within the historic Chester Rows, has an open-plan setting with a variety of different zones, and serves a classic Mediterranean menu.

Dean Wilson, owner of Olive Tree Brasserie, comments: “While the restaurant is open-plan, we wanted to have a variety of zones to each offer a slightly different feel, while still staying true to the high-quality and unique element of the design.

“We have 170 covers across two floors, each of which offer views spanning the whole restaurant, to ensure everybody dining with us has the best experience possible.”

Olive Tree Brasserie has a traditional industrial theme throughout, yet with a modern twist to offer something completely different to anything else in the region. The restaurant was recently shortlisted in the Northern Design Awards 2016 for best commercial design project, best commercial interior designer, and best restaurant and bar.

Claire Fox, director of Style Matters, explains: “The industrial element is echoed in the overall décor such as the wall detailing, lighting and the bar. Our seating and tables very much provide a mixture of modern meets traditional, to create a truly eclectic look reflective of the unique and bespoke experience Olive Tree provides.

“To offer the venue more flexibility, the second floor includes various loose booths, which can be moved to accommodate more space during busy periods. While the dining and drinking areas have been set out as defined individual zones, to offer a varied experience, dependent on the nature of the customers visit.”

Style Matters is a Cheshire-based, bespoke furniture manufacturer, producing a number of high-end and handmade pieces at its showroom in Knutsford. The brand has become renowned for its exceptional designs, including its dining chairs, sofas, stools, fixed seating, tables, bars and outdoor pieces.

Dean: “Our Chester-based brasserie looks fantastic, and we’re thoroughly impressed with the finished look.”
