With London Cocktail Week stirring up a storm in the capital from Monday 2 until Sunday 8 October 2017, Royal Lancaster London has created two exclusive cocktails to celebrate: the Sipsmith Bramble; and a Portobello Twist.
The Sipsmith Bramble is a modern take on the original bramble recipe, invented by Dick Bradsell in the 1980s. Inspired by a childhood spent picking blackberries on the Isle of Wight, Bradsell created the first Bramble while working at Fred’s Club in Soho. Island Grill’s concoction features a mix of the locally-distilled Sipsmith London Dry Gin and Sloe Gin, Fresh Lime Juice and Crème de Mûre Blackberry Liqueur.
The Portobello Twist infuses the locally brewed Portobello Beer with the distinct flavours of a Shirley Temple. The cocktail features Pomegranate Juice, Lemon Juice, Sugar, Syrup and a large Portobello Beer. The fruity blend offers the crisp taste of a light beer, with a citrus twist.
Both cocktails are priced at £8.50 each.
The Sipsmith Bramble and Portobello Twist are available in Island Grill, the hotel’s eco-friendly restaurant and bar. With a focus on sustainability, Island Grill’s team are proud to work with London distilleries and local breweries.
London Cocktail Week returns in 2017 for its eighth year, with the most trendy bars and hotels in the capital opening their doors to present their most impressive tipples.
