Mortimer House Kitchen to Open in Fitzrovia

Launching Monday 13th November 2017

Situated on the ground floor of the art deco building on the corner of Mortimer and Wells Street, Mortimer House Kitchen will welcome both members and the general public to enjoy the eclectic menu created by Head Chef Luca Unali. Luca will bring together a wealth of experience from the kitchens at Cecconi’s, Blakes and KX Gym to compose an unconventional Mediterranean menu with hints of Middle Eastern flavour.

16th October 2017
: Mortimer House Kitchen will be opening in London’s Fitzrovia on Monday 13th November. Brought to you by the soon-to-be-opened private workspace and wellbeing destination Mortimer House, the restaurant will focus on providing fresh, sustainable and organic produce in a thoughtfully designed yet unpretentious environment.

Open from breakfast through to dinner, the all-day menu will offer a selection of refined dishes created by Luca and his team.  Alongside classic breakfast dishes, guests can begin the day with a variety of options from the restaurant’s breakfast bar, serving a selection of house-made breakfast bowls, energy balls and gluten-free cookies, each of which can be accompanied by a selection of nut milks and house pressed juices. The breakfast menu has dedicated a whole section to the beloved avocado with dishes including ‘Baked avocado with poached eggs and smoked salmon’ as well as ‘Grilled halloumi with avocado on flaxseed bread’.

The same approach to quality and seasonality can be expected throughout the day and into the evening with familiar dishes given an unusual twist with wilder elements such as ‘Charcoal cauliflower with garlic aioli’, ‘Courgette spaghetti with pistachio pesto and smoked ricotta’ and ‘Charcoal-grilled pluma Ibérico with smoked aubergine, tahini and zaatar’.

To accompany the dining experience, Mortimer House Kitchen welcomes guests to try its signature cocktail list featuring six bespoke cocktails alongside a selection of classics. There will also be a carefully selected range of organic and biodynamic wines from Europe and the Middle East.

The 90-cover restaurant will feature a chef’s counter where guests can be exposed to the inner workings of the kitchen. The light and airy conservatory is available for private hire, hosting up to 20 people underneath an atmospheric skylight with interiors adorned with a variety of indoor plants and festoon lighting. Mirroring its health-conscious menu, the interiors of Mortimer House Kitchen are inspired by the most natural elements. Designed by New York based studio AvroKO, the restaurant is open-plan with marble countertops, terracotta ceilings decorated with timber and rattan panelling, wood floors and concrete columns all accompanied by warm furnishings and ambient lighting.

Founder Guy Ivesha says, ‘We wanted to create an all-encompassing dining experience that welcomes members of the public to share the hospitality experience that defines Mortimer House. We will be serving the menu throughout the House to our members, delivering room service to the private work studies and meeting rooms on the upper floors.’
