École Ducasse expands in Latin America through partnership with Peruvian University USIL

École Ducasse has announced a new strategic partnership with Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL), a leading institution in culinary arts in Peru. This collaboration aims to enhance the academic and professional pathways of students from the Peruvian institution through a series of programs and events designed by École Ducasse to promote culinary and pastry excellence as well as cultural exchanges.

The partnership includes the following main components:

Access to École Ducasse programs for USIL students and alumni

USIL students and alumni will now have the opportunity to join the prestigious programs of École Ducasse, both short and long-term, at preferential rates. This unique opportunity will allow them to benefit from the world-renowned expertise of École Ducasse and acquire advanced culinary and pastry skills that will prepare them to excel in the international gastronomy sector.

Two exclusive summer programs designed by École Ducasse for USIL students

  • “Best-of Alain Ducasse”: An intensive four-week program in English, held at the school’s iconic Paris campus. This program offers a comprehensive immersion into the culinary techniques and philosophy of Chef Alain Ducasse, enabling participants to hone their culinary skills in a dynamic and cutting-edge learning environment.
  • “The Arts of French Pastry”: Also four weeks long and conducted in English, this program will take place at the École Nationale Supérieure de Pâtisserie. Students will learn the intricacies of French pastry under the guidance of expert pastry chefs, thereby enhancing their mastery of the sweet arts.

To celebrate the partnership launch, an exceptional masterclass week will be held in Peru, on the USIL campus in Lima, led by a chef from École Ducasse during the first week of December. This event, exclusively for USIL students and alumni, will give them the chance to discover the techniques and expertise of École Ducasse.

Élise Masurel, Manager Director of École Ducasse, said:

“We are delighted to begin this collaboration with USIL to offer students a rich and transformative culinary experience. This partnership is a unique opportunity for young Peruvian talents to acquire cutting-edge skills and immerse themselves in the excellence of French gastronomy while allowing École Ducasse to enrich itself with the highly recognised Peruvian culinary culture.”

The official signing of this partnership took place on 12th July at École Ducasse’s Paris Campus, in the presence of Chef Alain Ducasse. On this occasion, he was awarded the Medal of Honour for Merit on behalf of the USIL Educational Corporation, presented by the Founder and President of USIL, Raúl Diez Canseco Terry, former Vice President of Peru. This distinction honours Chef Ducasse’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the culinary arts.

The collaboration between École Ducasse and USIL offers students unique opportunities in terms of skill development, academic and professional pathways, and intercultural exchanges. By joining École Ducasse programs, USIL students will not only improve their technical skills but also immerse themselves in the French culinary culture, globally renowned for its refinement and innovation.

It marks a significant milestone in the mission of École Ducasse and USIL to train the culinary leaders of tomorrow and perfectly illustrates the commitment of both institutions to promoting culinary excellence through international collaborations. By combining their expertise and resources, the two institutions are committed to offering unparalleled training and development opportunities to their students while strengthening cultural and professional ties between France and Peru.
