A new look and feel Fridays has made its debut in Eldon Square, featuring a spacious and relaxed bar and lounge area, plus bespoke menu for any time of the day – in addition to evening dining and live music
The times are a-changing at TGI Fridays, with the award-winning American restaurant chain unveiling its restaurant of the future with a new look and feel dining experience, the first of its kind during the brand’s 30-year UK history.
The first of the new restaurants launched in Newcastle’s Eldon Square on the 31 October and gives consumers a reason to visit Fridays at any time of day, catering for all occasions and visits from breakfast through to dinner. It will also offer a more premium, exciting experience for guests, including live music and DJs from a Fridays-first stage and performance area. Two more new-concept Fridays will be opening in the UK between now and February.
The Eldon Square restaurant will be the fourth Fridays in the area, showing what a huge appetite there is for the brand and its unique dining experience locally. However, the new restaurant will differ dramatically from existing Fridays in Newcastle, offering a completely refreshed experience for guests.
As well as a fresh and modern new-look interior, a real difference guests will notice is the all-new spacious, light and bright lounge and bar area. The area can be used for a variety of occasions – whether that is relaxing with a coffee from Fridays new premium range in a comfortable sofa whilst working on a laptop, or rocking out in the evening to a live band or DJ. The restaurant is complete with free Wi-Fi, ample power sockets for guests and comfortable seating areas.
And when it comes to food, Fridays’ latest restaurant will offer menus tailored to different times of the day.
The restaurant is open for breakfast for a variety of occasions, whether grabbing a quick take out option or enjoying a relaxed weekend brunch. Options on the breakfast menu include classics like American Pancakes, Chicken Creole Hash and the one and only Jack Daniel’s American Breakfast. And the bottomless Prosecco brunch, served between 11am-2pm on weekends, or the BAYOU Bloody Mary, served with crispy bacon and a shrimp skewer, will hit the spot for those after a boozy brunch.
The lunch menu offers unbeatable value, and is perfect for a quick working lunch, a bite to eat with friends, or as a quick solo option. The wide selection of lunch options, available for just £7.99, includes fresh and light options such as the tasty Duck Salad, succulent Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich or the spicy Texas Chili Bowl. Or for those in a hurry, items such as the Crayfish Roll, available between 11am and 3pm are available ‘on the go’.
The exciting new main menu features a selection of can’t-get-anywhere-else Fridays originals, like the Ultimate Jack Daniels Double Glazed Ribs, alongside brand new creations from top UK chef Terry McDowell. The boundary-pushing menu will offer local guests the first opportunity to get their hands on taste sensations including Bacon Lollipops, six different types of chicken thighs, including Jerk, Cola and Angry Orchard Cider flavours, as well as the Gravy Seal Burger – featuring a chicken escalope, beef burger, popcorn shrimp, red and caramelised onions, and Colby cheese, all served with beef gravy. Irresistible.
Karen Forrester, TGI Fridays UK CEO, said: “Newcastle loves Fridays and Fridays loves Newcastle – which is why we have chosen the city as the first place in the UK to try our brand new concept restaurant, which features an even better Fridays experience plus fantastic new food and drink.
“We feel that now is the perfect time to build on the UK-wide popularity of Fridays and serve up a new, fresh experience for our guests. These new restaurants will retain the heritage of Fridays but mix it with new offerings for all times of the day and night whether that is breakfast, a relaxed meeting over coffee, or an indulgent, celebratory, evening meal with live entertainment. We are so excited to open our doors at Eldon Square, unleashing even more Fridays fun to the local area.”
