CARR’S FLOUR APPOINTED NEW SUPPLIER TO APPRENTICE WINNER CARINA LEPORE’S DOUGH BAKEHOUSE

Alongside the launch of her second Dough Bakehouse branch this week, reigning The Apprentice winner Carina Lepore has now chosen leading UK miller, Carr’s Flour, as the new flour supplier for her successful family-run business.

Speaking on choosing Carr’s Flour, who have three mills in Kirkaldy, Silloth and Maldon, Carina says, “Working with Carr’s Flour was a natural fit for us as artisan bakers at Dough Bakehouse. We wanted to work with Carr’s as not only do they mill premium flour, they also provide great customer support. We have the same vision for the future and there is a real synergy between us as forward thinking, modern and innovative businesses.”

Carr’s will support Carina through the expansion of the Dough Bakehouse business, the first new site of which is located in Beckenham, which has an in-house bakery, café and an extensive outside terrace area. The new Dough will also be hosting a series of regular events, including a Sunday brunch offering all-you-can-eat from the Dough Bakehouse range and bottomless prosecco to the backdrop of DJs and live entertainment. Further expansion is planned across 2020/21.

Known in baking circles as the flour that’s tried and trusted by Britain’s best commercial bakers right through to home bakers, the Carr’s’ range of flours and bread mixes have been giving bakers confidence for nearly 200 years. Carr’s’ team of expert millers blend knowledge, pride and expertise into every bag they produce, which is why they are still the first choice for bakers looking for a miller they can trust.

James Walker, Sales Account Manager for Carr’s Flour, is delighted to have Carina and Dough Bakehouse on board as part of Carr’s’ broadening London customer base. “Working with such an exciting and growing business like Dough Bakehouse is a testament to Carr’s Flour’s ability to offer consistently sensational flours to a vibrant range of customers here in London and across the UK. As a miller, we bring together the best of what technology and skill can create, ensuring our customers receive premium flour they can trust, every time.”

Dough Bakehouse is a family run bakery, based in Herne Hill, just seconds away from the mainline station. Founded by current The Apprentice winner Carina in 2018, Carina still manages the day-to-day running of the independent bakery, whilst her father, Carlo, continues to freshly bake all the products on-site every morning.

At the heart of Dough Bakehouse’s mission is the belief that everyone deserves the joy of freshly baked bread. Delivering this to customers every day, the Bakehouse aspires to deliver fantastic customer service with a personal touch. Family values are important to the business, with a welcoming atmosphere and a customer base that includes patrons that have been with Carina since the start of her journey. Products on offer at the bakery, where customers can also sit in, include an impressive range of sweet treats such as cakes, cookies, pastries and on-trend bakes like Pastel de Nata, Vegan Flapjacks and Cinnamon Buns, as well as freshly baked loaves, including their famous Multiseed loaf containing wheat oats and rye and linseed – a neighbourhood favourite!
