Award-winning chef, James Cochran, and the original tequila, Jose Cuervo, are celebrating Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo by launching the Around the Cluck X Jose Cuervo Cinco de Mayo at home kit this month.
Adding some Cochran flair to a Mexican-inspired menu, featuring James’s signature Around the Cluck fried chicken, his favourite Sauce Shop condiments, and exclusive Margarita pairings from Jose Cuervo, this restaurant kit is the perfect way to celebrate Mexican heritage at home with loved ones on the weekend of May 8th.
Priced at £50 for two and available for up to 6, the kit – fully prepped and ready to be finished off in the oven – features two Cinco de Mayo burgers, Fiesta Wings to share and two matched margaritas. Cinco de Mayo burgers are a riot of flavour: a buttermilk fried chicken burger with Sauce Shop Habanero Hot sauce, burnt green tomato relish, sour cream, coriander slaw and tortilla chips.
James has done all the hard work deep frying so all that’s left to do is simply crisp it up in the oven and assemble the delicious ingredients – It’s that easy!
What’s more, each reveller will also enjoy a perfectly paired Twisted Piña Margarita: combining Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila, with pressed pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, coriander, jalapeño and agave nectar with garnishes of cracked black pepper and a fresh lime wheel….delicious!
Up next on the menu, James has rustled up Fiesta wings that are buttermilk-brined and marinated in Sauce Shop Smoky Chipotle BBQ rub and topped with Sauce Shop Chipotle Mayo, pickled red onions, roasted coconut and coriander. The wings are finished off at home by baking them in the oven, ideal for those who prefer to leave the deep-frying to the professionals.
The spicy wings are designed to be enjoyed alongside a refreshing Sandía Margarita cocktail made up of classic Mexican flavours, including Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado Tequila with watermelon and apple juice, fresh lime juice, mint and agave nectar with garnishes of fresh mint and a fresh lime wheel.
