Scores of people gathered for the opening of the new wagamama restaurant in Norwich on Monday as demand grows for the popular pan Asian brand and its wholesome dishes including rice bowls, noodles, curries and a menu which offers 50 per cent plant-based dishes. The opening of wagamama’s second site in Norwich brings wagamama’s total to 155 restaurants across the UK.
The grand opening saw hundreds of hungry guests with chicken katsu + yaki soba coming out on top as the most ordered dishes of the day.
Located at the Riverside Retail Park on Wherry Road, the Norwich restaurant has been designed for 118 covers inside and an extra 12 outside.
Open seven days a week, the new restaurant opening has created 78 new jobs, bringing wagamama’s total to 155 restaurants across the UK.
Overseeing the grand opening, wagamama Norwich’s general manager, Kelly Unsworth said: “We are so excited to be opening our doors to the people of Norwich. We have been feeding the Norwich community for nearly ten years, and with the expansion of another restaurant means we can welcome even more of our beloved and loyal customers, including new faces to enjoy our nutritional and delicious dishes.”
