Entry Deadline Extended for International Salon Culinaire 2018 @Hotelympia

 

 

The deadline for entries to International Salon Culinaire, the world’s greatest culinary competition, has been extended to 10th December, giving aspiring chefs more time to enter. The competition, which takes place from the 5th to the 8th March 2018 at the revitalised Hotelympia, showcases the very best in the world of student and professional chefs, demonstrating flawless skill and uncovering fresh talent.

 

To enter, all competitors need do is visit https://www.hotelympia.com/salon-culinaire by 10th December to complete the form and secure a place in their preferred class.

 

The four highly popular categories which make up the competition –  Live Theatre, La Parade des Chefs, the Skills Theatre, and Salon Display classes – all return, each encompassing historically popular classes as well as exciting new challenges, inspired by key trends, to ensure every category remains as relevant as ever to the hospitality industry in 2018.

New competitions, including the Craft Guild of Chefs’ National Team of the Year – which will pit the best trios of chefs against each other for the chance to be crowned champions – are hotly anticipated, whilst updates to existing elements, such as the addition of the English, Welsh and Scottish National Culinary Teams to fine dining challenge, La Parade des Chefs, will maintain the pedigree of competition which attracts the best in the business to International Salon Culinaire.

 

Apprentice chefs and students should check out the Skills Theatre programme sponsored by Le Cordon Bleu London, as it contains a mix a competitions which will provide the opportunity to hone essential techniques such as fish filleting, butchery and knife skills. For front of house staff there are also classes that focus on areas such as table laying, flambé and cocktail mixology. For chefs that prefer the calm and familiarity of their own kitchens when putting an entry together, there is a wide array of Salon Display classes sponsored by Compass Group which will showcase a range of static entries in an array of mediums. Next year also sees the launch of the inaugural Professional Cake Decorator of the Year award which will be presented to the most successful competitor in the sugarcraft classes.
