Boparan Restaurant Group is set to launch its fourth Slim Chickens restaurant in the UK this June in Birmingham, following three successful launches in London and Cardiff.
The new 107 square meter venue, located in a high-footfall area of Grand Central, will accommodate up to 61 covers at a time, and create 30 new jobs, 6 of which have been offered to former Ed’s Diner’s employees.
Slim Chickens, famed for its fresh, buttermilk marinated, hand-breaded chicken tenders, opened its first ever location in Arkansas in 2003, before rapidly expanding to other US southern states, quickly reaching the 80-restaurant mark. The brand has plans to open more UK restaurants in the upcoming years.
The new Birmingham venue will serve the brand’s mouth-watering hand-breaded chicken, all 100% natural and British-sourced, including its iconic buttermilk-marinated tenders, sandwiches and wings, alongside a selection of 13 house dipping sauces and signature sides, from crispy fried onions to coleslaw and mac ‘n’ cheese.
Commenting on the launch, Tom Crowley, CEO of Boparan Restaurant Group, said: “The feedback on our previous Slim Chickens UK launches has been overwhelmingly positive so far, so we’re thrilled to be opening our fourth location in the fast-growing city of Birmingham.
“Our restaurant will offer a true Southern US hospitality experience to Birmingham and we are looking forward to welcoming our first customers when we open our doors on Tuesday 25 June.”
