Fresh from celebrating their 2nd birthday, South Woodford’s Grand Trunk Road have now shattered the expectations of a suburban eatery with the clear win of Best Indian Restaurant at the Asian Curry Awards 2018.
Beating out other venues of Michelin star calibre (and a fantastic achievement for a restaurant in E18 as opposed to more central locations), the first solo venture from restaurateur Rajesh Suri and masterful Head Chef Dayashankar Sharma now enjoys a formidable reputation as one of London’s premium fine dining experiences – one that offers exquisite cuisine within a warming and elegant atmosphere.
The East London venue has become synonymous with quality, offering a singular menu inspired by the stretch of land that has become a cultural legend. Grand Trunk Road employ traditional cooking methods for ancient recipes that have travelled the ages, steeped in tradition and executed by Chef Sharma with an unparalleled expertise for contemporary diners.
Chef Sharma says: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled with our award; recognition for restaurants outside of Central London can be rare; I look forward to welcoming and surprising our guests with food that is carefully prepared and always delicious.’
Grand Trunk Road have recently launched their Christmas and New Year menus – both available on their website – BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
